Masks is a tabletop roleplaying game in which you play young superheroes who are growing up in a city several generations into its superheroic age. The system is designed to create teen superhero stories like those found in Young Justice, Teen Titans, Young Avengers, X-Men, and more.
If we have new players, we’ll spend the first part of the session running through creating your superpowered teen and finding out what makes them tick before delving into the superhero antics. If you want a preview of potential character options, check out the quick star guide to get an idea of what kinds of characters can be played.
This campaign is at capacity.
Masks is a rules-light system based on the award-winning Powered by the Apocalypse (PbtA) system, so if you’ve played games like Apocalypse World or Dungeon World the system should be fairly recognisable to you. Masks only uses 2d6 dice. Anything your character could or want to do will always involve just these dice, so no need to need to bring the entire dice collection. So if you’ve never played a PbtA game before, don’t be intimidated, it’s easy to pick up how to play on the day.
