Kessler Effect

It is the year 4021. The exhausted Earth, stripped of its resources and wracked by climate change, has been further depopulated by a mass exodus to the more habitable planets in the solar system.

A dense cloud of orbital debris surrounds Earth, preventing satellite communications and easy orbital travel; intermittent space combat around the planet and throughout the solar system complicates this further. A handful of space elevators provide the best access to space and the rest of humanity. One by one, these have been locked down by the powerful interplanetary belligerents.

The terrestrial factions around Europe and North Africa have turned their gaze towards the one surviving space elevator in their region, which rises from the free and independent Hercules City.

The Kessler Effect is a game about a squad of pilots and their giant mechas, and the conflicts of a post-post-apocalyptic Earth.

The players’ pilots are part of a squad that has to navigate the warring factions of a post-post-apocalyptic Earth. They are trying to do their part, then get out physically and mentally intact. It is a roleplaying game that understands what giant robots are really all about: lasers, explosions, bodies, and relationships.
